What's at stake
The senior Worlds bring together Greco-Roman, women's and freestyle wrestling. They were due to be held in Manama, Bahrain, but United World Wrestling moved them in May, citing geopolitical uncertainty and its impact on travel. The Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation took over, seven years after Astana hosted the 2019 Worlds.
France enters nine wrestlers: four in Greco-Roman, three in women's wrestling and two in freestyle.
Schedule
Greco-Roman opens the event, followed by women's wrestling and then freestyle, with finals every evening. Sessions start daily at 10:30 am Astana time (7:30 am in Paris on Saturday 24 October, 6:30 am after the clocks change).
French entries: Lucas Lo Grasso (Greco-Roman 60 kg) and Ibrahim Ghanem (77 kg) on Saturday 24; Gagik Snjoyan (67 kg) and Vladimeri Karchaidze (87 kg) on Monday 26; Kendra Dacher (women's 76 kg) on Tuesday 27; Tatiana Debien (53 kg) and Améline Douarre (62 kg) on Wednesday 28; Quentin Sticker (freestyle 65 kg) on Thursday 29; Rakhim Magamadov (86 kg) on Friday 30.
On TV
Every bout streams live on UWW+, the international federation's subscription platform, with replays.
