What's at stake
This is the all-British heavyweight fight fans have wanted since the mid-2010s. Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, both former unified world champions, have never met. Between them they have 66 wins, 52 inside the distance, according to ESPN. Both had a tune-up fight in July.
Fury dethroned Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 and later won the WBC belt from Deontay Wilder. Joshua, the London 2012 Olympic champion, held the WBA, IBF and WBO titles. According to Ring Magazine, the WBA "super" heavyweight title will be on the line; the WBA had not confirmed this in the sources checked.
The fight is promoted by Ring Magazine, owned by Turki Alalshikh, with Zuffa Boxing, the boxing company of UFC chief Dana White. Netflix is funding it alongside Saudi company Sela.

The fight was made official on 24 September and launched at a press conference in London on 30 September. The undercard and the main event start time have not been published yet.
