What's at stake
The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam is one of the highest-ranked events on the IJF World Tour, behind only the World Championships and the Masters. It comes three weeks after the Baku Worlds and each winner earns 1,000 world ranking points.
The European Judo Union alone has entered 274 athletes from 35 nations.
