What's at stake
Nine years after the 2017 edition, Paris again hosts the European Championships of IFMA, the international federation for amateur Muay Thai, which is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. The French federation (FFKMDA) runs the event under the European federation (EMF). According to IFMA, 36 delegations and more than 1,000 athletes and officials are taking part.
Titles are decided in full-contact bouts for senior elite and under-24 athletes, by weight class, with one gold, one silver and two bronzes per category. The programme also includes Muaythai Technical (semi-contact on tatami), the traditional wai kru and mai muay events, and para and special categories. Results count towards qualification for the 2027 European Games in Istanbul, where Muay Thai is on the programme.
France fights at home. Équipe de France lists twelve French entrants, including Ines Pilutti, Alexandra Chatenet, Fadimata Amadou, Yanis Soualili, Daren Rolland, Mbaye Samb, Romain Marchal, Abdelrahmane Rezzag, Valentin Hammani, Jean-Charles Fusella, Sofiane Djellab and Sabih Bensouna, the 2025 under-23 world silver medallist at +91 kg. Final weight classes depend on the FFKMDA's published list.
Schedule
Competition from Saturday 17 October (12 pm) to Sunday 25 October (8 pm), with an opening ceremony and parade of nations. The FFKMDA has not published a day-by-day schedule: brackets and results are updated on the event page of its website. No television coverage has been announced.
