What's at stake

WAKO, the IOC-recognised world body for amateur kickboxing, holds its European senior championships in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, together with the veterans (masters) and para-inclusive divisions. Every WAKO discipline is on the programme, in the ring (full contact, low kick, K-1) and on the tatami (point fighting, light contact, kick light and musical forms).

In his invitation letter, the WAKO Europe president describes the championships as a milestone on the road to the 2027 European Games in Istanbul, where kickboxing is on the programme; qualification details are to be confirmed with the European Olympic Committees.

Schedule

The event runs for ten days, from Friday 6 to Sunday 15 November 2026, with delegations arriving and weighing in at the start. The organiser, North Macedonia's kickboxing and Muay Thai federation, has not published a day-by-day order of disciplines; draws are released during the event.

Getting there

Bouts take place at the Jane Sandanski sports centre in Skopje, which the organisers describe as the home of Macedonian Olympic sport. WAKO Europe offers supporters a package including accommodation and venue entry. No TV coverage has been announced.
